07 Trade union rights and freedom – taking back our rights
Submitted by POA
Congress registers its total disgust and disappointment at the continuation of the anti-trade union laws throughout the United Kingdom.
Congress recognises that all initiatives and campaigns up to this time have achieved little change to employment rights for working men and women in this country.
Therefore, Congress calls upon all affiliated trade unions and the General Council to organise a series of street demonstrations throughout the United Kingdom, and selective days on which trade unions will break the anti-trade union laws by taking a general strike.
Further, these activities should continue until such time as the Government changes this anti-trade union and anti-working class legislation.

I think the TUC leadership need to orginise a more aggressive campaing to redress these oppressive anti union laws. I feel the unions in general need to organise a more membership lead type of campaing with the possiblity of directly challenging these laws in the form of lightnering strikes and the way we recruit is also an issue. As with many union we have all kinds of debates during strikes of the best way to conduct these but the simeople fact is while ever these laws are in place we are fighting with one arm tied behind our back. During the New Labours time we have seen the Labour part efectivley betray our class and movment time we fought hard for our class and stop pandering to the profit agenda of New Labour and there friends in the Torie pary the tabliods and of course that crimminals club the CBI.
Thanks to the RMT for your support, to all the other unions who voted against this motion, well thanks for nothing!!!!! When you have had ALL forms of action banned for as long as our union has had, you will know how we have felt. When your management says that coming into your place of work at your correct start time is called industrial action, then you will know what we have had to put up with. Once again many thanks!!!!
